Cycle of Violence
This handout shows the three-stage
pattern of violence that can occur
within an abusive relationship. It was
developed by Dr Lenore Walker to
represent how abuse can be cyclical.
This cycle usually occurs at least 7x
before the victim gets help. This cycle
can help explain why a victim continues
